Interim Policy on Civil Marriages between Same-Sex Persons

Same-sex couples’ access to civil marriage was extended throughout Canada on July 20, 2005, under the Civil Marriage Act. While CIC examines the impact of the Act on its immigration programs, its interim policy, which recognizes the validity of civil marriages between a foreign national and his or her Canadian citizen or permanent resident same-sex partner, will continue. At this time, the policy applies only to the family class (which includes the spouse or common-law partner in-Canada class).

Common-law partner

You are a common-law partner—either of opposite sex or same-sex—if you have been living with your sponsor in a conjugal relationship for at least one year. The year of living together must be a continuous 12-month period and cannot be intermittent periods that add up to one year. However, you are allowed temporary absences for short periods of time for business travel or family reasons.
You will have to provide documents that prove that you and your common-law partner have combined your affairs and have set up your household together in one home. This could include:
-joint bank accounts or credit cards;
-joint ownership of a home;
-joint residential leases;
-joint rental receipts;
-joint utilities (electricity, gas, telephone);
-joint management of household expenses;
-proof of joint purchases, especially for household items; or
correspondence addressed to either person or both people at the same address

If US president Bush insists on his "traditional" view of the marriage between a man and a woman, he might as well be prepared to lose a number of intelligent, creative, and capable citizens who will try their best to immigrate to Canada to retain and reinforce their rights and freedoms.

In fact it isn't altogether a bad idea for so many talented American people to develop in Canada, and through the immigration elimination process, only the most talented gay people will gather around here, and till then, let's have a celebration.

I think I can totally understand Bush's adminstration: they are only trying to maintain their dignity, just like the attitute of the British before America's declaration of independence. They probably think that they are doing the right thing, but wait for their heirs to judge their ignorance. Bush keeps repeating the history of heterosex marriage which only indicated his fear of facing a social reform. Just as feminist revolution, the truth will finally appeal, and form a larger and more destructive revolution.

Bush announces that he will protect the rights of 70% of the population, which is another LOL. By passing a law allowing homosexual marriage isn't going to corrupt the marriage rights of heterosexual couples. And we can also figure that there are 30% of which are homosexual. That is a very great deal of votes that they are going to lose by ignoring this group.

The most unbearable fact is that many American citizens strongly with this ignorant dignity. On CNN call-in yesterday, 8 out of 10 phone-in audiences opposed the ideas of same-sex marriage, some listed their reasons, yet others just shouted out their emotions without any explanation.
Many of them think this kind of action will support the government or social development, but they have not recognized that they are behaving just like the dogmatic conservatives.

Passing a legal document of gay marriage isn't going to harm anyone, instead, many of them will benefit from it, and stablize the society. Gay people are not going to turn straight just because the absence of a marriage law, rather, they will seek for all kinds of ways to gain their rights and prove their strength.

Just recently, after the "goat-cheese affair", I became so vulnerable that I either sleep too late or can barely fall asleep at all.
At the moment, here I am, wide awake again at this early hour, and cannot fall asleep without checking things out from my text book.
Not having been blogging for a long time, I have no idea what i was doing these days: not studying, not playing, and definitely not doing anything meaningful. Just four days later, I will have a political science paper due, and i haven't even started writing anything. I am totally stressed out.
Yesterday was both children's day and LGBT family day, but i couldn't get into the mood.
Am I giving myself up? I gotta be disciplined.

Well, here i am, drunk and blogging. I know it's wrong but everybody's doing it, so hell with it, and hell with my grammar. The reason I'm writing this is about the goat cheese i'v had with my beer. I have no idea why it tasted so bad ><.

No, im sorry, it's not really about the goat cheese, honey, it's about the beer. Or it's about the score i got for one of my most important English exam. Ha, here it is. I finally spited it out! Yes, it's about the score. lolololol......I'm crazy.

Should I be so crazy? I donno, shouldn't I? So I didn't pass the test, so what?

I was planning to go back and see my partner in another city this summer. I have promised her to go visit her this summer, right after i passed this test. But I didn't. So i will have to wait for a month and take the exam again, and i don't even know if i can pass it then....

I miss her so much, so this means very much to me, as well as to her.

I was talking to her on the phone this afternoon, and i was trying not to cry, but i did....I know, sad. She didn't act very disappointed, but i know she is, at least for not having her by her side this summer. Since she is very busy at work and some other personal problems, she cannot come and visit me.

Anyways....yup, I'm drinking for the 2nd time of my life, and it sucked just like the first time.

lol!

I've been surfing like mad these days, and i'm surprised by what i've found out-- a gay and lesbian family alliance. And the site had this great idea of having all gay and lesbian family bloggers blog about their daily lives. They even named a LGBT family day--june 1, 2006.

This is also the reason i picked up this blog again. I haven't been using it since last year!

Although I'm not a mom yet, me and my partner Leo are looking forward to becoming one. During this time, it's a great opportunity for me to accumulate knowledge about how to become a lesbian mom...

It is spring, and to the Earth it is the season of rebirth and life. To me, it is the season of realization.
I found that in this season, all of my senses come alive. My happiness is melted, and my sadness is awake. I start to realise, the good things and the bad ones.
Today i went out with my friends for bubble tea. We haven't been hanging out for a while, and i found that i didn't really know them. I liked one of them before, but now she's with another friend of mine. I was jealous at first, of course. I found no reason that the one i liked could fall in love with the other one. Today i had came to a total realisation. I was wrong. I found how small i am comparing to her.
There was a little conflict between my friends, while we were having tea. I watched them, and just tried to make fun, to make everyone laugh. But she did differently. She acted very calm, and tried to hint my friend not to say silly things.
I had to admitt that i am far behind her level of problem-solving and social skills, now i realized that my friend deserves that girl i liked. They are more suitable for eachother.
Really, something unless you come to a realization someday, you would never understand. And there are far more depth of life than its surface.
some people live larger than life.

It's time to get out of here. Posted by Hello
