Starting Annual Salary: USD$ 23,148

Open to: Expatriates residing in Beijing, Locally Engaged Staff (LES) currently working at the Embassy and spouses of Canada-Based Staff.

Duties: Under the general supervision of the Registry Supervisor the incumbent supervises a Registry team of ten.

Registry keeps track of various databases, coordinates the file movement (50,000 non-immigrant files and 10,000 immigrant files a year) and supervises the registry clerks when doing file movement, receives and reviews immigrant and non-immigrant application forms; creates files on the computer, sends out application forms and related information material; performs routine case processing actions; provides secretarial support; and performs other coordinating duties such as replaces the registry supervisor when on leave, provide training to new personnel and supervise summer students working in registry, liaises with other departments to ensure that service standards are being maintained.

Qualifications: Demonstrated experience working in a general office environment; demonstrated experience working on a PC in a network environment; experience in filing and administrative work is an asset; experience in Immigration registry is a strong asset; supervisory experience is an asset.

Language requirements: Ability to read, write and speak well in English. Ability to communicate in French and/or in Mandarin is highly desirable.

Education: Successful completion of Secondary School.

Security/Reliability: Reliability status is required prior to appointment.
